That's what Mom called me today. She's silly sometimes. It's because i got new shoes on so my feet look all pretty and feel good.
I haven't blogged for a bit because I just haven't done a lot. After my turnout that I wrote about last time, my foot was kind of hurty where I pulled the shoe off and my bite was still bothering me. When Mom came the following day, she checked my foot again and found two nails still sticking out so she pulled those. Then she took me out to the Flat Arena and lunged me for a little bit just to see how much it was bothering me. It did make me limp some so she just walked me around for a while then brought me back to my stall. She put medicine on my neck again and gave me some more in my food (yuck!).
Then yesterday she came and cleaned me up and just took me for a walk in the Flat Arena. She didn't give me any of that yucky medicine though so that was good. And my bite felt a lot better. Today she came early, not too long after I'd finished my breakfast.
I was surprised to see her and greeted her with a big whinny. Well, I always greet her with a whinny but this time I was surprised. She got me right out and took me to the Round Pen and let me trot around a little bit. My foot was feeling better so I wasn't limping anymore and that made her happy. She let me play a little bit then she took me back and cleaned my stall and then she took me over to the place where the Shoe Man does my feet so I knew it was time to see him.
He came along after a little bit and Sparky's mom came at the same time! That was nice. I haven't seen her in a little bit. She went and got Sparky and brought him over. I couldn't sniff noses with him or anything though because the Shoe Man was playing with my feet already.
I tried really, really hard to be a Good Girl today. It's hard. I have to stand for such a long time and there's nothing to do and nothing to eat and it's boring and stupid. But I have to. Mom got after me a little bit while the Shoe Man was doing my front feet because I kept leaning on him. It's hard to stand on three legs. But she told me not to so I stopped.
Then he did my back feet and I was a little fussy with them but he held right on and Mom told me to behave so I settled down. About that time, I discovered that my lead rope had come a little bit loose and I could finally reach his stuff.
The Shoe Man has neat stuff. I always want to sniff it but I usually can't reach. I try to sniff him too when he's playing with my front feet but Mom doesn't really let me because when I sniff things, I like to play with them with my lips. I guess he doesn't like that much or maybe Mom thinks it's not polite. Anyway, she kind of discourages it.
But he has this thing like a table and on the table, he puts this big hard thing that's made out the same stuff that my shoes are made of. It's kind of long and funny shaped and he puts my shoes on it and then bangs on them with a hammer. It makes a lot of noise and I'm always trying to poke my nose in and see what it smells like when he does that. He laughs and thinks it's funny that I'm not afraid of it. I don't see why I should be.
I got to sniff it today finally and it smelled just as interesting as I thought it would. Kind of like shoes, and kind of like bits, and kind of like the tools he uses to put my shoes on. It's smooth and feels nice on my lips and tongue. I want one. I wish I had one in my stall to play with. Mom said it's called an anvil.
I was having so much fun with that anvil that I almost didn't notice the Shoe Man playing with my back feet. He could have cut them off for all I cared. I was nuzzling it, and nosing it, and licking it, and one time I even got my nostril sort of hooked over the end of it and that felt really funny. I liked it. Then I'd have to move my nose while he pounded on a shoe again. It was kind of like a game. I like games.
When he was all done, Mom put me in the Round Pen again and I got to run around with shoes on which feels nice especially when they're new shoes. So I ran and played while Spark got his feet trimmed. Spark doesn't wear shoes. He doesn't need them so he just needs to get trimmed. He doesn't like it much and today he pulled his foot away one time and stepped on the Shoe Man's foot. I felt bad for the Shoe Man, and for Spark because he didn't mean it but I was glad that it was someone besides me who messed up for a change.
Anyway, I'm glad I have new shoes, and that my bite feels better. Maybe tomorrow we can go riding and then I'll have something fun to write about.
