More scuffs!

Well, more than a scuff. I have a big bite on my neck and it hurts!

Kia bit me. I don't know why. I was just standing in my paddock, not doing much. I did kind of put my head over the fence into her paddock and I was just asking her something. Well, I asked her a couple of things. But she didn't have to bite me. She could have just told me to go away.

Well, she did kind of tell me to go away but I didn't think she really meant it. She's my friend, after all. So I was just asking her if she really meant it or if she wanted me to go away later or if she was just kidding when she reached over and bit me. Hard!

My mom didn't see it at first. She came to see me and gave me my hay snack and got Sparky so he could have a hay snack too and she cleaned my stall. When she was all done with that, she started grooming me and that's when she found it. It was under my mane and my mane is so long now that it covered it all up. But as soon as she moved my mane back to brush my neck, she saw it. I flinched, I couldn't help it because even when she barely touched it, it hurt.

She took some cold rocks out of my lunchbox and wrapped them in a towel and pressed that on my neck. Mom always brings a lunchbox for me. It has carrots and bottles of water in it. I like to drink water out of bottles. It's fun. And I love carrots. But she also puts those cold rocks in there too. I don't know why but it was handy today because it felt kind of good on my bite.

At least it did for a while. I got sick of it after a bit and got kind of fussy. So Mom finished grooming me and cleaning my feet and putting fly spray on me, then she held the cold rocks on the bite again. After that, she put some medicine on it and put me back in my stall. She told me I could rest today because as soon as I started using my neck, it was going to hurt. Well, it already hurt.

She gave me more hay snack which was nice and took Sparky away. I could see them from my paddock. She took him out to the Flat Arena and lunged him. It looked like fun. Spark was frisky and he trotted around and around with his tail up in the air the way he does and then he'd bounce into a canter and run around my mom, bucking and playing. He wasn't being bad, I don't think - my mom didn't seem mad - he just looked like he was feeling good and having fun. That's nice. I love Sparky.

Then my mom came back with my bucket dinner and I could tell she'd put some medicine in it. She does that sometimes when I have scuffs. The medicine does help make it feel better and it makes me kind of sleepy but I don't like the taste. I'll eat about anything but I get kind of picky when I smell medicine in my food so I picked through it carefully trying not to eat it but I wanted to eat all the good food so I ended up eating the medicine too. I guess that's why Mom puts it in there. She's sneaky.

I do feel a little better though and I have a nice new bed so I think I'll lie down and rest. I'm not talking to Kia tonight. She's Just mean.
